Donald Trump and Elon Musk have made it clear that they want to dismantle and privatize the U.S. Postal Service, piece by piece.
Their plan is to destroy this public service, and turn it into a private cash machine for the rich and powerful. With Postmaster General Louis DeJoy having finally resigned, the path is wide open for Trump and Musk to launch their takeover and install another Postmaster hell-bent on selling out the USPS — unless Congress acts fast.
We can stop this takeover. Right now, Congress has a bipartisan opportunity to slam the brakes on privatization by passing H.R. 70 and S.R.147 and sending the message that: the U.S. mail is not for sale.

It's how patients receive medications, how small businesses stay afloat, how families connect across distance, and how democracy functions through vote-by-mail. Millions of rural families, seniors, and working people will pay the price if Trump and Musk succeed in turning our Postal Service into a for-profit venture for Wall Street executives.
We need to stand up and defend a public Postal Service that delivers for everyone — or billionaires will turn it into another commodity to be bought, sold, and squeezed for profit.
