When you can write yourself $50 million checks, you don't have to talk to working families. You don't have to build trust in communities. You don't even have to come up with ideas that inspire people.
Jason,
Earlier this month, a billionaire named Rick Jackson jumped into the Republican primary for governor — and immediately pledged $50 million of his own fortune to fund his campaign.
I won't lie… watching Republicans scramble to out-MAGA each other has been entertaining.
But here's the serious part: When you can write yourself $50 million checks, you don't have to talk to working families. You don't have to build trust in communities. You don't even have to come up with ideas that inspire people.
You can just buy airtime. Buy attention. Buy influence. And that's a real problem.
Right now, things are looking strong on our side. We've built real momentum. We've outraised the field. We've built a multiracial, multigenerational coalition across Georgia that can win.
But if we face a self-funded billionaire in the general election, we need to be ready. That means organizing harder. Reaching more voters. Showing Georgia what a real grassroots campaign looks like.
