BREAKING via Politico >>
FCC Chair Brendan Carr just told television networks to "correct course" in their coverage of Trump's war with Iran.
Read that again!! ⬆️
Folks, a federal regulator threatened to pull licenses from news outlets, from networks like CNN or MSNBC, because the President didn't like their war coverage.
Carr didn't cite a single legal standard. He didn't identify a regulatory violation. He echoed Trump's personal complaints about journalism and told broadcasters they'd face consequences at renewal time.
Congress has the authority to stop this. The Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation and the House Committee on Energy and Commerce have direct oversight over the FCC. They can open hearings. They can demand answers. They can put Carr on record.
We must keep the press free and fair, out of Trump’s authoritarian reach.
