The past few weeks, I keep hearing rumors that political operatives who are part of the DC corporate establishment are calling our donors, our supporters, and our endorsers – trying to strong arm them into no longer supporting our campaign and blunt our momentum.
It's clear: Our opponents in DC – the corporate PACs, billionaire Super PACs, AIPAC, and the political establishment machine – are gearing up to go on the attack and spend millions lying about me on TV.
I refuse to take their money or do their bidding. And that scares them. They'd rather have Susan Collins or another milquetoast establishment Democrat they can count on than someone willing to stand up and fight the fascists trying to destroy our democracy.
I served four infantry tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. I'm not afraid of millions of dollars in TV ads lying about me. I knew the fight I signed up for when I decided to run against Susan Collins and take on the entire DC political establishment.
We are going to defeat Susan Collins and flip Maine's Senate seat blue with a Democrat who isn't afraid of a fight this November. Susan Collins is the most vulnerable Republican senator in the entire country – but the polls show this is an extremely close race right now.
I'm not taking money from corporate PACs or AIPAC – and for that reason, we rely entirely on small-dollar contributions from people like you to fund our campaign. I'm ready to take on Susan Collins and all of the DC corporate Super PACs, but I need your help now if we're going to do it.
So I am once again asking: Please, can I count on you to split a donation right now between our campaign and Democratic Values to help me defeat Susan Collins, flip Maine blue, and take back the Senate for Democrats?
There's no amount of money these oligarchs can spend that's ever going to make me back down from fighting for working-class Mainers.
