I want to talk about something that's been at the core of my work long before this campaign: defending our democracy.
In 2020, Michigan was at the center of national attention. After the presidential election, Donald Trump and his cronies tried everything to discredit our results and overturn the will of Michigan voters. They pushed baseless claims about vote counting in Detroit, tried to block certification of the results, and spread lies designed to weaken public confidence in our democracy.
But Michigan fought back. We stood strong. And we proved that our elections are fair and our votes count.
As Chair of the Michigan Senate Elections Committee, I am proud to still be on the frontlines of that fight.
Now, I'm running for Congress because Michigan deserves leaders who stand up for the values of democracy and fight back against anyone trying to tear it down. I need your help to keep pushing for transparency, integrity, and accountability at every level of government.
