| Hi Jason, In my first address to the General Assembly, I proudly shared an important update about how we are lowering energy costs for Virginia families and strengthening our energy future: The Commonwealth of Virginia is rejoining the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative. RGGI is a bipartisan, market-based program that helps states reduce carbon pollution while generating revenue to invest back into their communities. For Virginia, that means resources to lower energy bills, improve energy efficiency, and make our grid more reliable. If you agree that Virginia rejoining RGGI to lower energy costs and invest in our communities is a positive step forward, will you add your name to show your support today? | | | | Energy affordability is a core part of my Affordable Virginia Agenda. And rejoining RGGI will help us protect jobs, strengthen our grid, and put money back into the pockets of Virginia families. We are expanding energy storage so we can capture cheaper power and use it during peak demand when prices are highest. That means savings for families and a more reliable grid for everyone. We are also growing programs that help lower income Virginians make their homes more energy efficient. Simple improvements like better insulation and weatherization can save families hundreds - and even thousands of dollars per year. And we are focused on making Virginia more energy independent with solar, nuclear, and offshore wind, including one of the largest infrastructure projects in Virginia history that will create thousands of jobs and generate billions of dollars in economic activity in coastal Virginia. Your voice matters as we continue to move this work forward. So please, add your name if you support Virginia strengthening our energy future by rejoining RGGI. | | | | Together, we can build an energy future that is affordable, reliable, and made in Virginia. Thank you for standing with me. Abigail Spanberger | |
