Florida is failing women when it comes to healthcare
By refusing to expand access to Medicaid, Florida is failing women and families when it comes to healthcare.
Jason,
By refusing to expand access to Medicaid, Florida is failing women and families when it comes to healthcare.
"A recent study showed that, for healthcare coverage, access, and affordability for women, Florida ranks 48 out of 51 states including Washington, D.C. For prenatal care, the state comes in dead last – 51 out of 51"
Right now, 1.4 million Floridians don't have access to the care they deserve. Women are disproportionately affected, with limited access to preventative cancer screening, maternal healthcare, and mental health resources.
Expanding Medicaid access is one of the most impactful steps we can take to ensure every Floridian–especially women–can access the care they need when they need it!
With 2026 on the horizon, we have an incredible opportunity to put Medicaid expansion on the ballot and let Floridians decide for themselves. The foundation we build today will be crucial to our success.
