Last year, Alaskans made their voices heard and upheld Alaska's ranked-choice voting system. Now, out-of-touch extremist are renewing their efforts to repeal ranked-choice voting in 2026!
Here are 3 reasons why we're fighting to protect ranked-choice voting in Alaska:
🤝 Building a more representative Democracy. Ranked-choice voting requires that candidates receive over 50% of the vote to win, ensuring that our representatives are elected with majority support.
✅ Incentivising positive campaigning. Rather than focusing on special interests and negative campaigning, candidates are incentivized to appeal to a broader audience and focus on the issues that Alaskans care about the most.
🗳️ Giving voters more choice at the ballot box. Under ranked-choice voting, Alaska voters have more options and the freedom to vote for their favorite candidate rather than voting against another candidate.
