| Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs was the first executive director of Emerge Arizona and broke barriers after winning the Arizona Governor's race in 2022. And, Governor Lou Leon Guerrero of Guam is the first woman to serve in that position. Now, Emerge alums Rep. Abigail Spanberger, Secretary Deb Haaland, and Lt. Gov Eleni Kounalakis are running for Governor in their states of Virginia, New Mexico, and California.
