Jason, FIRST: Alaska voters approved a ballot measure in 2020 to establish ranked-choice voting in the state to make our elections more transparent and ensure that candidates put the needs of Alaskans above special interests. THEN: Dark money special interest groups launched a campaign to repeal our ranked-choice voting system in 2024–but Alaska voters stepped up and defeated the ballot measure by just 734 votes! NOW: With renewed efforts to undo the will of Alaska voters and repeal ranked-choice voting in 2026 already underway, rebuilding our statewide grassroots infrastructure early will be crucial to preserving our election system.
