| Jason, The Trump administration engaged in a large-scale military strike against Venezuela without Congressional authorization, which violates our Constitution and the rule of law. It also violates international law. Having been taught since my childhood to uphold the principles of our Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the Declaration of Independence, and having spent my career defending these rights both in and out of the courtroom, I know this much: no President gets to bypass Congress and drag our country into conflict on their own. That's not how our democracy works. This strike won't make Americans safer or drug-free, and it certainly doesn't put Americans first. Instead, corporate interests and greed continue to get prioritized, creating greater instability and uncertainty while families here at home continue to struggle. The American people deserve answers free from lies and political rhetoric. Our leaders must be held accountable for their actions regardless of the position they hold. No one is above the law. No one. These quick military actions cost U.S. taxpayers billions of dollars and have significant consequences for our military men and women for years to come. Instead of focusing on kitchen table issues like affordability, the economy, and healthcare, this administration has now created a new distraction at taxpayers' expense. We need leaders in Washington who are focused on the people here at home, not invading other countries for their natural resources. I'm running for Congress to represent the people, as there are too many politicians who have been bought by corporate and special interests. Refusing to accept a dime from corporate PACs and special interests means I need your support. Will you support my campaign today with a contribution of $10 to elect a leader who prioritizes people? |
