I'll be blunt: Derek Schmidt will never stand up for Kansans. While he may try to talk a good game, his record shows otherwise. While our farms struggled, he voted for Donald Trump's tariffs four times. While families struggled to pay for healthcare or find a nearby hospital, he voted for Trump's bills that slashed Medicaid funding and made health insurance more expensive.
And now? As the rising cost of fertilizer and gas makes things even harder, Derek Schmidt keeps siding with Trump, putting himself and his political buddies first.
I'm no career politician, but you don't need to be one to see how broken politics are nowadays. Folks know this, and that's why polling shows that more voters now disapprove than approve of Donald Trump in this district. This November, we have a real opportunity to flip KS-02 and send Derek Schmidt packing. Here's the thing: my record is nothing like Derek Schmidt and I'm proud about that.
