Sorry to be so direct, but our team doesn't have a moment to spare.

You see, we're racing to meet our ambitious fundraising goals ahead of our first FEC fundraising deadline of the election year on Tuesday.

This deadline is the major test for our campaign. Not only will it determine how many people hear Jonathan's message, but the public release of our fundraising means all eyes are going to be on the numbers we put out.

Reporters, pundits — and yes, our opponents — will be looking to gauge the size and strength of our grassroots team. If we have a good showing, it's a sign that we're on track to win this race. If we come up short, it's a massive signal to the world that this race is up for grabs.

That's why emails like this one are so important. If we're going to win this race, we're relying on grassroots supporters to make sure we don't come up short.

So please.

If you've been waiting for the right moment to make your first grassroots contribution, now is the time. Before Tuesday's FEC deadline. Can we count on you to donate $50, $25, or whatever you can afford? We wouldn't ask if it wasn't vitally important.
