FIRST. Republicans start a redistricting battle, aiming to shift the map in their favor to protect their slim House majority. It started in Texas, where Governor Greg Abbott pushed through new maps to give Republicans an advantage.
NOW. National Republicans have set their sights on Florida. Gov. Ron DeSantis is trying to redraw our maps. Despite state laws that protect districts from partisan benefits. He’s trying to push the limits of those protections, evade them, and reshape our state anyway. And he's trying to eliminate a Latino-majority district right here in Orange County.
While it’s still unclear exactly what will happen in the coming days, we can’t afford to wait and see.
Jerry is already out there raising the alarm and making sure voters understand just how serious this could be. Now we need to make sure he has the resources to keep going.
