In some parts of Alaska, families are already paying $10, $15, even $17 a gallon just to heat their homes and keep the lights on.
Now, new reporting warns things could get even worse.
Because of global conflict and supply disruptions, fuel prices in rural Alaska could spike by another 50% — pushing communities toward what local leaders are calling a “survival scenario.”
Let that sink in.
We’re talking about families trying to heat their homes at $20+ per gallon.
Communities that only get one fuel delivery a year being forced to lock in sky-high prices.
Entire regions facing the very real risk of shortages.
And once again, Alaskans are being left to figure it out on their own.
This is exactly why leadership matters.
