The United States has the worst maternal mortality rate in the developed world. This rate is only rising, and it’s driven by far higher mortality rates among Black mothers and birthing people of color.
Today, Black women are three to four times more likely than white women to die from pregnancy-related complications. These alarming statistics are an urgent call to action that we have a responsibility to answer.
The Momnibus will finally reverse the rising trend of maternal mortality, save moms' lives, and close racial and ethnic disparities in maternal health outcomes.
Too many families have lost mothers, daughters, and sisters to our nation’s maternal health crisis — and the Momnibus is the solution. Moms can’t wait, and it’s time for Congress to step up and finally pass this critical legislation.
