58 years ago, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was tragically assassinated in Memphis, Tennessee. Jason, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. dedicated his life to fighting for justice. In his short 39 years, he: - Led the great March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom;
- Broke barriers in Birmingham, one of the most racially segregated cities, with his Birmingham Campaign;
- Led the Montgomery bus boycott;
- Founded the Southern Christian Leadership Conference to help organize protests and coordinate sit-ins;
- Gave multiple speeches that literally altered the course of history;
- And changed the world through peaceful protest!
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s life was cut far too short. And there's no telling what other great things he might have accomplished if he had lived longer.
