| Friends, The numbers haven't changed—and that's the problem. In 2026, women hold just 28% of seats in Congress, the same as the previous session. At the state level, it's only 33.5%. Despite making up half the population, women are still vastly underrepresented in the rooms where decisions are made. Women are effective leaders. They communicate, collaborate, and deliver results. The real barrier is access—who gets recruited, trained, and supported to run in the first place. Because leadership doesn't start in Washington. Nearly 70% of House members and 82% of Senators began in local or state office. And too often, women are never given the tools or encouragement to take that first step. Emerge doesn't wait until women are already candidates. We invest early. We recruit, train, and connect Democratic women to the networks they need to run—and win. That's why our first-time candidates are six times more likely to win their races, and we had a 77% win rate in last year's election. But building that pipeline takes resources. And right now, the need couldn't be more urgent. ๐ Donate now to help build the pipeline women need to lead. The numbers won't change on their own. But together, we can change them. —Team Emerge |
