Jason,

This year marks a historic milestone — 100 years of Black History Month!

For a century, our nation has taken time to intentionally celebrate the legacy, resilience, and brilliance of Black leaders who shaped America. This month serves as a powerful reminder that Black history is American history, woven into every chapter of our nation's story.

Here in Georgia, we know that history is not just something we remember. It's something we live. I'm proud to stand on the shoulders of giants like Congressman John Lewis, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and Coretta Scott King, alongside the countless organizers, educators, faith leaders, and everyday people who pushed this country closer to its promise of justice and equality. I carry that legacy with me every single day as I continue to fight in Congress.

But this centennial celebration is not just about looking back — it's about moving forward.

At a time when there are renewed efforts to erase our history, silence our voices, and roll back hard-fought rights, we must be clear: Our stories matter. Our votes matter. Our futures matter. Black history is not confined to one month — it is being made every single day in our classrooms, our communities, and our halls of government.

As we commemorate 100 years of honoring Black history, I encourage you to celebrate with purpose — support Black-owned businesses, uplift Black educators and creators, mentor the next generation, and continue building the beloved community so many fought to create.

Together, we will honor the past, protect our progress, and shape a future worthy of those who came before us.

Happy 100th Black History Month!
