| FIRST: In October, President Trump threatened to increase Argentinian beef imports, causing deep concern from the cattle industry. Congressman Derek Schmidt claimed to share that concern. I spoke out against it because cattle ranchers have been battling drought, high input costs, tariffs, and more.
THEN: Just last week, Trump followed through on his threat with an executive order, even though it will have little impact on prices. But it will cause more uncertainty for American ranchers and make it harder to rebuild the national cow herd. And Congressman Derek Schmidt has been silent!
