During a week in which Mike Lawler has voted to disenfranchise millions of voters, roll back environmental standards and keep Donald Trump's insane tariffs in place, one of my opponents has decided to attack me for the work I'm proudest of: helping to elect dozens of pro-choice, Democratic women to public office and standing with frontline nurses.
I've spent my career working for organizations and candidates who have changed the face of power on Capitol Hill and around the country. And I'm proud to stand with the New York Nurses, who've spent weeks on the picket line fighting for the wages and benefits they deserve for keeping us healthy.
Here's what my opponent doesn't understand: we'll never beat Mike Lawler by tearing down the coalition we here in the Hudson Valley have spent decades building. We're going to win this race by bringing people in, not pushing them away.
In the past week, I've introduced legislation to protect my community from Kristi Noem's rogue ICE agents and helped organize hundreds of Rockland County residents to come out and support our immigrant neighbors. That's how we'll beat Mike Lawler—by organizing and mobilizing voters around the core Democratic values we share. My opponents can waste time on divisive attacks. I'll keep doing what I've done for decades here in the Hudson Valley: building the coalition we need to win.
