Jason, Congress has gotten a lot more homophobic these days — and we need a leader in Washington who will call out the bullsh*t. As Michigan’s first openly gay State Senator, I’ve seen it firsthand. I’ve watched as MAGA extremists tried to ban drag shows, burn books, and even overturn Obergefell v. Hodges nationwide. Well, here’s what I have to say to them: we won’t go back. That’s why I led the charge to protect LGBTQ+ marriages in Michigan’s constitution and ensure all marriages are treated equally. I stood up to MAGA bigots, and won. Now, I’m running for Congress to bring that same fight to Washington. We need a bold leader who will protect LGBTQ+ rights and stand up to Trump’s cronies. Not someone who’s going to bring a pie chart to a knife fight.
