Just when you didn’t want more evidence of our democracy under threat, Trump creates a 1.8 billion dollar slush fund in exchange for dropping his lawsuit against the IRS. Critics are warning that this fund could be used to pay Trump supporters who have faced federal investigation, like those federally charged in the January 6th attack on our Capitol. Meanwhile we, the American people, are suffering with cuts to healthcare, Medicaid, SNAP and other social programs. The irony is painful. We are witnessing wealth and power protect itself at the whim of a tyrant. Cutting the programs that sustain the majority of Americans doesn’t trim the budget, it undermines our foundation and forfeits our future. I am fighting to restore a government for the people.
