Dear Jason,
This Memorial Day, I reflect on the Americans who fought and died for our freedom and our democracy and how we disrespect their sacrifice when corrupt politicians beholden to corporate interests bend the rules for their own gain and needlessly put our service men and women in harm's way.
My father, a proud veteran, taught me that the principles this country was founded on are worth fighting for and should never be taken for granted. I believe that the government works for the people, not the other way around. And that power should never go unchecked. Here's what we’re fighting for:
This is the work and our hope, and it doesn't happen without you. This Memorial Day weekend, please make a donation to keep this campaign going. Every dollar is an investment in the kind of government these heroes defended — and that we all deserve. Donations made today send a powerful message: that we haven't forgotten what this country is supposed to stand for and we don't take for granted the sacrifices made. Please give what you can. I sincerely thank you. -Lisa |
