Jason, I wrote you a novel yesterday so I'll try to keep this short.
Our democracy, our government, our future — it's all on the ballot this fall.
I'm committed to doing everything I can, and I need you with me. Let's ensure we reach the voters we need to win — if you can, chip in before tonight's budget deadline.
Thank you,
Amy

Subject: Am I worried? Very.
Jason,
The other day, somebody asked me how worried I am about this election.
The answer is "very" — anyone who says otherwise isn't being honest with you.
For one, the stakes are astronomical. When your opponent openly sides with authoritarians and threatens to be a "dictator on Day One," it's not an exaggeration to say that the future of American democracy is on the line.
Sometimes I reflect on the first time I took an oath to support and defend the Constitution, and I wonder how we got here. Never in a million years would I have dreamed we'd be up against a threat like this at home.
That pressure is intense — let's all acknowledge that. But it doesn't help to panic or spend every waking minute scrolling through news online. The best thing each of us can do is stay focused on the mission at hand, and do our part to execute the plan.
Here's what gives me hope: You and I have been here before. And this grassroots team has repeatedly stared down the toughest odds and come out on top.
In 2020, even though we did not unseat Mitch McConnell, our efforts helped take away his majority — reducing his stranglehold on Congress and ending his plan to destroy our judiciary.
In 2022, we took on Trump's hand-picked, election-denying candidates for secretary of state — and defeated every single one, depriving MAGA of its ability to rig the next presidential election before it started.
This election is our chance to end Trumpism for good. Look, they're not leaving their plans up to the imagination. They're telling us exactly what they want to do, and how they're going to destroy our democracy to do it. When you hear the things that he says, it's hard not to despair about the fact that millions of Americans want to see him back in the White House.
But here's the thing: I've spent a lot of time with the data, and I've seen the holes in the MAGA coalition. A whole lot of voters are increasingly turned off by the man who will be the Republican nominee. Every time Trump casts doubt on the results of the last election, every time he praises Putin, every time he threatens to throw his political opponents in jail — he's making it worse for his chances in the fall.
Our research shows sizable portions of the electorate, especially in battleground states, fall into what I call "pro-democracy voters." They have the power to decide this election.
The only question is whether our side will reach enough of them to win.
Our February budget deadline will help decide how quickly and how aggressively we can do this work. I know I ask a lot of you — that's because I can't do this alone. Will you chip in before our deadline and help build the grassroots operation that will shut down Trump for good?
This mission is the most consequential of my lifetime. It means so much to have your support in this fight.
Amy
