Let me tell you a bit about myself, why this race is so important, and why we can't leave the race for Congress in Virginia's second Congressional District to chance.
I'm a first-generation college graduate from a rural farming town, and I come from a long line of veterans dating back to the Civil War, where my great, great, great grandfather served in the Union Army. After 9/11, I joined the Marine Corps, where I led infantry units through six overseas deployments – including combat tours in Afghanistan and Iraq.
I don't have the background of a typical politician, or a typical Democrat. I haven't worked in a white shoe law firm and I don't have a rolodex full of corporate lobbyists. I'll work with anyone – Democratic, Republican, or Independent – to get things done for our country.
That's why I know I can win a close district like VA-02. And VA-02 was really close in 2024 – Trump won it by just 0.02%!
VA-02 will be one of the handful of districts that determine control of the House in 2026. And it's never been more urgent to retake the majority. Trump and his loyalist members of Congress like Jen Kiggans just gutted Medicaid, food assistance, public broadcasting, and more. They betrayed our veterans by opposing the PACT Act and making cruel cuts to the VA.
I took an oath in the Marine Corps to protect our country and our Constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic. That oath is for life. That's why I'm stepping up to run for Congress in this must-win seat, and why we must send Jen Kiggans packing in 2026.
