| Jason, Mike Lawler and his Republican allies just voted to slash funding for PBS and NPR. These cuts will devastate local news organizations and educational programs that millions of Americans rely on. As a former school board member and someone who grew up on Sesame Street—as did my own children—I know how critical public programming is for young kids, providing them with the tools to learn, grow, and build a strong foundation for their futures. Cutting funding to these programs means millions of children will lose access to the educational content that helps them succeed. And it's not just the kids who lose out. WNYC and other local public stations are also on the chopping block. These stations provide vital local news and serve as a platform for the voices of our community. We cannot afford to lose these important resources. Mike Lawler's vote to cut PBS and NPR funding is another devastating blow to our community—and one more example of his willingness to do whatever Donald Trump tells him to do. I'm running for Congress because I believe in investing in our children's education and in protecting public media that serves the people. But I need your help. Will you chip in today to fight back against these cuts and help us flip this district blue next year? |
