| Jason, It's Nacole from the Maine Gun Safety Coalition. In Lewiston, 18 lives were senselessly taken. Eighteen souls with hopes, dreams, and goals, all erased in an instant. That heartbreaking tragedy – like so many others in this country – was preventable, but our current gun safety system is one rooted in inaction and loyalty to the NRA. This November, right here in Maine, we have an opportunity to buck that trend. Extreme Risk Protection Orders let law enforcement and family get involved when someone is clearly in crisis. It's a process that exists in 21 other states nationally, but is modeled after Maine's existing protection from abuse orders. A recognized system that saves lives, this law could have prevented the tragedy that we saw in Lewiston nearly two years ago…and we need it in place to help prevent the next major tragedy from happening in our beloved state. We need your support to pass this life-saving legislation. To stand up to the NRA, we need a powerful grassroots network, and your support is key to that. Will you consider a contribution to support our work today? |
| Thank you for your commitment to saving lives, Nacole Palmer Executive Director Maine Gun Safety Coalition |
