| Jason, Texas just unveiled its proposal for new congressional lines — a wildly gerrymandered map that would give Republicans a chance to win five more seats. They'd have a real shot at holding 30 of the state's 38 House districts. Think about that. In a state where Trump has averaged 53% of the vote in the last three elections, Republicans think they deserve to have 79% of the congressional seats. There's a technical term for that strategy: CHEATING. This is the Republican playbook for the midterms. They're so panicked that voters are going to take away their keys that they're resorting to changing the rules last minute to give themselves an unearned advantage. Here's the thing: The more I see, the more I believe that Republicans are overplaying their hand. This aggressive gerrymandering strategy could (and should) backfire big time — but that's only going to happen if we start building now. Today's a great day to chip in to support our grassroots organization and let's go win back the House next year. They're not planning to stop in Texas. Reports indicate that the White House is pressuring legislatures in other red states like Missouri, Indiana, and even Florida to follow suit. Ohio is expected to conduct a redraw later this year, with some Republicans dreaming of a map that gives them 13 of 15 seats. They're playing dirty because they're terrified. But that doesn't mean it won't work. God knows they've nearly pulled off schemes like this in the past. The only surefire way to stop them is when people like us actively organize and stand in their way. Thank you — more soon, Amy
