THEN: Republicans in the Iowa legislature moved to take away the Iowa State Auditor's office independence by limiting the kind of information it can access in order to fulfill its duty to the taxpayers and setting up a three-judge panel to debate any disputes before they reach the governor. NOW: The Lt. Governor Chris Cournoyer is running for Iowa State Auditor and has received Reynolds' support.
