Look, I think a lot of people in the press do a fantastic, often thankless job at rooting out the truth and keeping Americans informed.
But it's nowhere near enough. We have to face the reality that most voters aren't getting exposed to all the facts. Most people aren't keeping up on what's at stake in Ukraine or what Trump's actual foreign policy is. They don't have time to study the background on why Putin would love nothing more than for America to break NATO. They're not keeping track of the ways Trump is actively threatening to tear down our democratic norms and be a dictator "on Day One."
Don't mistake that lack of context for a lack of caring. We've found over and over in our research that there's a large segment of the electorate who cares deeply about the future of our democracy. We know that a whole lot of voters — many of whom typically support Republicans — find Trump's coziness with Putin and his actions on January 6th to be abhorrent.
Our job is to find and reach those voters as much as we can from now until Election Day — because we simply can't count on the news media, in this modern world dominated by social media and misinformation, to break through to them.
This mission-critical work is counting on people like you to step up to fund it — if you can, chip in today and let's do everything we can to make sure the voters who will decide this election know exactly what's at stake.
Thank you,
Amy
