Today marks the 53rd anniversary of Roe v. Wade, a Supreme Court decision that once guaranteed the constitutional right to abortion care, protecting reproductive freedom for millions of Americans.
Now, because of Donald Trump, that right is gone.
Since Roe was overturned, extreme Republicans have rushed to ban abortion nationwide, criminalize doctors, and force women to carry pregnancies against their will. The result has been chaos, cruelty, and real harm — especially for women with fewer resources and fewer options.
This didn’t happen by accident. It happened because Republicans spent decades stacking the courts, rigging elections, and using power without apology.
Now it’s time for us to fight back.
The path forward is clear: elect leaders who will codify reproductive freedom into law, protect access to abortion care in every state, and put an end to politicians controlling our bodies.
The fight didn’t end when Roe fell. In many ways, it’s just beginning — and we’re in it together.
