One year deep

Folks,

In just a moment, I’m going to share why taking back the majority in the House and Senate this November with Democrats like Jon Ossoff, Cory Booker, Gabe Vasquez, and Emilia Sykes is a fight I take personally. If you already understand the stakes and want to power our ads and voter outreach for the largest Democratic victory in history, I humbly ask you to chip in a $10 donation. Otherwise, please keep reading…

We’re one full year deep in Donald Trump’s second term. I wish I could say the shock has worn off, but it hasn’t.

When things feel this heavy, I think about why I got into this work in the first place. And I think about this photo. It’s ten-year-old me as I shake hands with then Democratic Rep. Jeff Van Drew:

Back then, I believed my representative was looking out for kids like me. He talked about safer roads, stronger communities, a future worth protecting. I trusted him. And then he sold us out.

Van Drew switched parties, pledged loyalty to Trump, and became a rubber stamp for a MAGA agenda that strips health care, undermines our elections, and punishes dissent.

That kind of betrayal sticks with you. When someone elected to fight for you decides you don’t matter, it changes you. It’s why I got into politics. And it’s why I’m asking you to join us today.

Trump survives because members of Congress choose loyalty over people. Because they think no one will hold them accountable. They are wrong, folks. But proving it takes work. It takes organizing in every district. It takes showing up before it feels comfortable. And yes, it takes resources.

So here’s my ask: If you believe in the tough fights just like I do, I’m asking you to make a grassroots donation today. $10 adds up when thousands of supporters across the country come together. Please tap here, or choose an amount below to give now.

I hope you’ll make these midterms personal for you, too. We can stop the MAGA madness, but only if we do it together.

In fight,

David Austin

Executive Director, Forward Blue

P.S. If you can’t donate today, that’s okay. Staying engaged still matters. Opening these emails, clicking the links, and paying attention helps this movement grow. Folks, I’m genuinely grateful you’re here with us!
