Happy Sunday, Jason. It’s Denise Powell here, the Democratic nominee running to flip NE-02, and I just had to share this quick story from the campaign trail.
But first, my team would never forgive me if I didn’t ask you to chip in $10 or whatever you can in these final crucial weeks of the election. Any amount helps in the final sprint!
Recently, while I was out and about in the district, I happened to end up by a local tennis court where a high school team was warming up for practice. I noticed them at the same time that they noticed me, and a few of them came over to introduce themselves.
After chatting with them about their concerns for future job opportunities and whether or not they’ll be able to afford a home, and we said our goodbyes, I remember thinking that I can’t recall a time when younger people were so involved in politics as they are today.
The decisions that Congressional Representatives make today will affect the lives of these high school students — the lives of my two children.
That is why I decided to run for Congress. Our Representatives continue to vote for their own interests and those of their political parties.
It’s about time that we have someone in office who is willing to make a fuss when our communities are suffering. Someone who will fight for the future our children deserve to inherit.
I’m running for Congress because someone needs to step up for our families and neighbors — not let career politicians and party leaders cast Nebraska aside.
With your help, we can flip NE-02 and the U.S. House blue, end the Republican Trifecta, and build a Nebraska that works for everyone. We can do this, but it’s going to take everything we’ve got.
Can you chip in now to help me? Your support could not come at a better time. We have less than 3 weeks until Election Day. The sprint starts now, Jason.
