Mike Dunleavy did it again.
After lawmakers passed a state budget meant to fund essential services and help communities across Alaska, Dunleavy pulled out his veto pen and cut nearly $90 million from the budget.
For Alaskans, this is nothing new.
Year after year, Dunleavy has treated the veto pen like a weapon against the very communities he is supposed to serve. Schools, health care, public services, infrastructure, working families — too often, they are the first things on the chopping block.
And every time, Alaskans are left to deal with the consequences.
Higher costs. Fewer services. More uncertainty. Communities forced to stretch already-limited resources even further.
That is not leadership. It is a failure to govern.

Alaska deserves better than a governor who keeps balancing false promises on the backs of families, workers, students, seniors, and rural communities.
We need leaders who understand that public service means investing in people — not cutting from them. Leaders who will fight for strong schools, affordable health care, safe communities, reliable infrastructure, and a state government that actually works for Alaskans.
That is what the Alaska Democrats are organizing to build.
Will you chip in today to help us hold Mike Dunleavy accountable and elect leaders who will put Alaska’s communities first?
Dunleavy is going to spend his last year in office hurting Alaska.
We’re fighting to elect a Democratic Governor in November who will put Alaskans first.
