Jason,
This week marks four years since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.
Four years since politicians and judges decided they should have more say over women's health care decisions than women and their doctors. And the consequences are painfully real. I know because I lived through one of those moments myself. After my first two daughters were born, I experienced two miscarriages. The second one put me in the hospital. I remember lying on a gurney, scared and in pain, while a doctor explained the procedure I needed to survive. It was a D&C, the same procedure that is commonly used in abortion care.
I needed medical care. And because I received that care, I was able to go home and recover with my family. And because I received that care, I was ultimately able to have another daughter and a son.
Since Dobbs, we've seen women denied care, doctors threatened with prosecution, and politicians pass laws that defy reality. And many Republicans are pushing for even more restrictions. My daughters are growing up in a country with fewer rights than I had. Four years after Dobbs, we cannot afford to stop fighting. We need leaders who trust women, protect reproductive freedom, and understand that health care decisions belong between patients and their doctors.
That's one of the reasons I'm running for Congress.
Will you chip in $10 or whatever you can today to help us protect reproductive freedom and defeat the politicians who are trying to take it away? |
