Jason,
I’m Charlie Bonner, and I want to talk to you about my friend Don Coover (the Democratic nominee in KS-02) or as we called him at West Point: Sodbuster!
Don and I met at West Point, where we were classmates in the same cadet company. He got the nickname Sodbuster because even with the rigid structures of the Academy, he stayed true to who he was: a farm boy from Kansas.
After graduation, we were both stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas, before I went on to serve in Germany, and Don served in Korea.
Now, Don is running for Congress in one of the country’s most important races, and if there's one thing you should know about Don, it's that he's still the same guy I knew in the Army. Washington won’t change him either. When he speaks, he has no agenda other than to serve and help others as he did in the Army.
We need to send a different kind of candidate to Congress, and that's exactly who Don is. West Point teaches leaders to commit to duty, honor, and country, guided by the Cadet Honor Code: “A Cadet will not lie, cheat, or steal or tolerate anyone who does.”
Too many politicians these days don’t live up to duty, honor, and country. They are in it for themselves, instead of their constituents. I am proud to stand with Don because he has consistently lived up to these mandates, and I have always seen Don act with the highest integrity.
I’ve been a financial supporter of Don’s campaign since he launched last August. Whether this would be your first contribution or you’d be giving again, I hope you’ll support my good friend Sodbuster before his important FEC deadline at the end of the month. |
Thank you,
Former Army Captain Charlie Bonner |
