I’d like to share a little more of my story with you.

Hey Jason, can I get personal for a moment? I’d like to share my story with you.
First, I have to ask (my team will be mad if I don’t!): Will you please split $7 between me and the Voter Protection Project today to help win my neck-and-neck race for Senate in Minnesota?
I’m Angie Craig – my grandkids call me “Mimi,” my four sons call me “Mom,” my wife Cheryl calls me the love of her life and Minnesota’s 2nd district calls me “Congresswoman.”
Growing up in a small rural town, I didn’t see many people like me. I didn’t even come out to my loved ones until college — it felt too risky to be openly gay back then.
I knew I wanted to be a mom. For the first three years of my son Josh’s life, I faced a lengthy legal battle to legally adopt him. A judge wrote that having two moms wasn’t in the “best interests” of any child. I kept fighting, and every day I was terrified that Josh could be taken from me.
But Jason, we won. And that victory helped clear the way for other LGBTQ+ parents and families to be legally recognized, too.
Years later, I met my wife Cheryl when she was coaching our kids’ basketball team. In 2008, we tied the knot — our kids proudly giving us away. It was one of the best days of my life.
Just weeks after, Proposition 8 passed, and suddenly our marriage was at risk of being erased.
But people spoke up. Neighbors had hard conversations. Communities pushed for change. And together, we built a country that recognizes that love is love.
Today, Cheryl and I are proud to live openly in our home of Minnesota. But our work is far from over.
Republicans have introduced over 600 anti-LGBTQ+ bills across the country in the last year, and recently, the Supreme Court was even considering revisiting the landmark case that made same-sex marriage the law of the land.
Now more than ever, representation matters. I’m running for U.S. Senate because every American deserves dignity, equality and a voice fighting for them.
But the GOP will stop at nothing to defeat me. Please, Jason, help me fight back, win this race and become the first lesbian mom elected to the U.S. Senate by pitching in $7 or more — split between me and the Voter Protection Project:

The Voter Protection Project is on an important mission: To end partisan gerrymandering and voter suppression by electing candidates at the state and federal levels that are forceful advocates for voting rights. Our enfranchisement agenda includes working to ensure that every state has automatic voter registration and online voter registration, convenient early voting, and independent redistricting commissions to ensure politicians are not able to draw their own maps.
