Georgia beat back a racist, rushed, gerrymandered map. Governor Kemp pushed hard for it. Republicans in the legislature wanted it. And despite all of that, it failed.
I want to be honest with you about what comes next: They are not done.
Republican lawmakers across the South are reading recent Supreme Court decisions like a playbook. They are already drawing new maps. Already looking for new angles. Already laying the groundwork for the next round of attacks on Black representation — attacks designed not just to win elections but to lock in power for a generation.
This FEC deadline is two days away. My first since becoming the GA-05 nominee. What we report will tell the whole political world whether this campaign has the strength to withstand what's coming.
