After the recent decision by Donald Trump and JD Vance’s Supreme Court to gut the Voting Rights Act, I’ve been reflecting on the full-scale assault that’s being waged on our rights and freedoms. On American democracy itself. |
There is an extreme movement in this country that will stop at nothing to hold on to power, even if it means stripping representation away from millions. Even if it means dragging us back to the dark and ugly days of Jim Crow. |
Courts are blocking maps voted on and passed by the people – all while protecting maps drawn by politicians to dilute Black voices. Trump, Vance, and their allies are raiding election centers here in Georgia, threatening to deploy ICE to polling places, and attacking your ability to vote by mail. |
The people are being squeezed out of our democracy in real time. We cannot and we will not sit back and let it happen. The fight must continue. |
That’s why I’m counting on you to take action today and sign my brand-new petition to protect voting rights. Please, if you’re with me, will you add your name now to condemn Trump and Vance’s assault on American democracy and protect the right to vote? |
