More than 300,000 federal workers were fired, quit, or took a buyout since Trump returned to the White House, with DOGE spearheading the massive layoffs. According to Mother Jones, almost 17 percent of those workers remained unemployed a year later. And on an international level, experts say at least 750,000 people — mostly children — died as a direct result of DOGE’s dismantling of USAID. DOGE didn’t just miserably fail at its mission to cut $2 trillion in government spending — it cost lives and jobs, caused chaos, and made government services worse along the way.
