Many of you know me as Mark Hamill the actor, but in my everyday life, I’m just another American who is concerned about the future of our country and the state of our democracy.
I’m in your inbox today because I want to talk to you about what’s going on in New Jersey.
There is a rebellion growing made up of citizens who are tired of corrupt and broken politics. They don’t want to be told by party elites to vote for hand-picked candidates. You have the current Senator, Bob Menendez, who has been indicted and is adamant about his decision to stay in the race and not resign his role despite losing the trust of his entire constituency.
Thankfully, Congressman Andy Kim stepped up.
Andy is standing up against corrupt machine politics and showing that we need to restore integrity in Washington. He’s currently in the lead in polls, but it's going to be a tough fight against big money, special interests, and entrenched power.
Andy’s been an underdog before. He’s been told he could never win his current congressional seat, but he hasn’t lost an election yet, and he doesn’t plan to start now. Andy fights for his two Lego-building little boys, and is building a people-powered movement.
I like someone who has the courage to fight for what’s right, even if that means going up against some powerful forces. That’s why I endorsed Andy Kim for Senate.
Andy has an alliance of grassroots supporters on his side, though, and that’s what it’ll take to win this race and beat the corrupt machine politics that have plagued New Jersey for too long.
