Jason, In November, we elected our first endorsed candidate when Nadarius Clark won his election to the Virginia Assembly. But like we said then, that race was not the finish line. Our work electing the next generation of leaders is just getting started. Today, we're super excited to reveal our first slate of 2024 endorsed candidates! But first, can you split $5 to Democratic Values and Leaders We Deserve before the end-of-quarter deadline and help elect bold new leaders in November? Sarah McBride (U.S. Congress – Delaware, At Large) Sarah McBride has been a results-driven, powerhouse lawmaker in the Delaware State Senate. She passed paid family and medical leave, which was the largest expansion of Delaware's social safety net in decades. If she wins this race in November, she would be the first trans woman elected to the U.S. Congress. Christine Cockley (OH HD-6 – Columbus) Christine Cockley has spent the last several years doing racial justice work in Columbus. Her campaign is focused on health care, gun violence prevention, raising the minimum wage, and other crucial issues for her community. If elected, Christine would be the second Jewish woman elected to the Ohio House. Bryce Berry (GA HD-56 – Atlanta) Bryce Berry is a middle school Algebra teacher in the Atlanta public school system. He is running for the Georgia legislature to bring positive change to his community. In his campaign, Bryce is fighting for economic development, education, health care, affordable housing, and solutions to rampant gun violence. Ashwin Ramaswami (GA SD-48 – Atlanta) Ashwin Ramaswami is a second-generation Indian-American immigrant who built his career in software engineering, election security, and policy research. He is taking on Republican incumbent Rep. Shawn Still, one of the fake electors who attempted to award Georgia's electoral votes to Donald Trump instead of Joe Biden. This is one of the most flippable seats in the Georgia Senate. Anna Thomas (PA HD-137 – South Central PA) Anna Thomas is a former school board member and education advocate who is running for one of the most flippable seats in the Pennsylvania House this cycle. Anna lost this seat in the last election by only 703 votes. Winning this seat is critical to holding Democrats' two-seat majority in the Pennsylvania House. Anja Wookey-Huffman (MT HD-65 – Bozeman) Anja Wookey-Huffman is a working class candidate and organizer who would be a vocal force against Montana's MAGA movement in the statehouse. She's ready to fight for abortion rights and take on those who stand in the way of more affordable housing who have made life hard for underserved communities and women and have priced out working class Montanans. Meeting our goals before the end-of-quarter deadline will help us to build a strong foundation of support for our 2024 Leaders We Deserve candidates. If you're as pumped about these badass progressive changemakers as I am, pitch in $5 now to Democratic Values and Leaders We Deserve. If you've saved payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation split between Leaders We Deserve and Democratic Values will go through immediately: We'll be in touch soon with more information about our endorsed candidates and we'll keep you updated about their races from now until November. We're going to pour everything we can into electing these young leaders all across the country. This is exactly why we founded Leaders We Deserve — because there are young people rising up to run for office and claim their power. But they will need a strong foundation of support to break down barriers and win these pivotal races. Supporting these candidates is going to take a lot of resources. That's why reaching our EOQ goal this week is absolutely vital. Firstname, please split $5 between Democratic Values and Leaders We Deserve to elect the next generation of leaders! Thank you!!
