We've never seen this level of overreach come out of the Governor's office in Alaska before.
Jason, we've never seen this level of overreach come out of the Governor's office in Alaska before.
Gov. Mike Dunleavy issued an unprecedented 12 executive orders for the Alaska Legislature to review during this legislative session–which accounts for 10% of all the executive orders issued in the state's history!
These executive orders would reorganize and dismantle important state regulatory boards and management councils in Alaska.
The Alaska Legislature came together and rejected 8 of the 12 executive orders, one of which included removing the management council that oversees Wood-Tikchik State Park in Southwest Alaska.
At a time when climate change is threatening our Alaska way of life, we should be doing more to manage the parks and nature we have to preserve for future generations.
