Don’t let MLK Day be a pause. Let it be a push.

Folks, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. didn’t ask us to admire his words once a year. He challenged us to act on them, especially when doing so was uncomfortable, risky, or unpopular.

Dr. King warned us about the danger of silence in the face of injustice. He reminded us that progress is never inevitable—it’s forced forward by people willing to stand up, speak out, and organize for change.

That responsibility didn’t end with him. It belongs to us now.

Today, as fundamental rights are under attack and power is being abused with fewer and fewer guardrails, honoring Dr. King’s legacy means refusing to look away. It means showing up, staying engaged, and committing ourselves to the long work of protecting democracy and dignity for everyone.

At Forward Blue, we believe civic engagement is modern-day civil rights work. And today is a moment to recommit—to paying attention, to holding leaders accountable, and to building the political power needed to push this country forward.

Don’t let MLK Day be a pause. Let it be a push.

"We shall overcome because the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice." – Martin Luther King Jr.

The future belongs to us, but we have to fight for it.

Help us continue the fight with a grassroots contribution today.

Thank you,

Forward Blue
