Nearly half of Alaska voters have experienced at least one indicator of housing uncertainty. A third have cut back significantly on essentials just to afford housing. And data from the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation found that Alaska would need to increase home construction by 90% to alleviate overcrowding.
This crisis has gone unaddressed for too long.
Alaska needs more housing — not more excuses from politicians who vote against solutions and then hope nobody notices.
The funding Sullivan opposed would have expanded the HOME Investment Partnerships Program, which helps communities build, buy, and rehabilitate affordable housing and provide rental assistance for low-income households.
That kind of investment could lower costs, create jobs, support families, and help more Alaskans stay in the communities they love.
Every Alaskan deserves access to safe, affordable, quality housing. We need leaders who will actually vote like Alaska families matter — leaders who will fight for affordable housing, lower costs, and the basic support our communities need to thrive.
Will you chip in today to help the Alaska Democrats hold Dan Sullivan accountable and elect leaders who will fight to lower costs for Alaska families?
Dan Sullivan had a chance to help make that possible. Once again, he put Alaska last.
