Energy costs are rising across Alaska.
No matter where you live, the cost of gas and electricity. Matanuska Electric Association just raised their rates by 29.4%. Alaska Electric Light & Power is proposing a 26.7% rate increase. And Golden Valley Electric Association (GVEA) continues to raise their rates, maintaining some of the highest electric rates in the state.
That means higher bills in the Mat-Su. More pressure on families in Southeast. Continued strain on Interior communities. And in rural Alaska, where fuel and energy costs are already devastating, even more uncertainty for families, schools, and small businesses.
This is what failed leadership costs our communities.

For years, Alaska Republicans have promised big solutions while Alaskans keep paying more. Mike Dunleavy, Dan Sullivan, and Nick Begich are quick to talk about energy — but when it comes to actually lowering costs, stabilizing supply, and making life more affordable, they have failed to deliver.
Alaskans deserve more than press releases, excuses, and empty promises.
We need leaders who will fight for affordable energy, invest in long-term solutions, strengthen local communities, and put Alaska families ahead of politics and special interests.
Will you chip in today to help the Alaska Democrats elect leaders who will take Alaska’s energy crisis seriously and fight to lower costs?
No Alaskan should have to keep paying the price for Republican failure.
