The good news:Recent public polling has me leading David Valadao 48 to 44.
Leading in a race that could decide who controls the House -- with a campaign powered by grassroots supporters -- shows that our community is ready for new leadership that’s actually on our side.
The bad news:Valadao and his Republican allies have reserved $14.3 million worth of TV ads to defeat me.
That money buys smears that local voters will see over and over between now and Election Day. They’re misleading attacks that are a distraction from Valadao’s own record.
The only way we hold onto our lead and win in November is if we see a massive surge of grassroots support -- right now.
