August was an important month for our campaign: it marked the first year since we launched, and thanks to your support, it was our biggest month of fundraising of the entire campaign. Together, we’ve already demonstrated that KS-02 is a seat within reach: ✅ In March, a poll showed us only four points behind Derek Schmidt once voters learned about his record, and the newest poll shows that we can actually lead this race if we have the resources to get our message out to enough voters. ✅ Compared to only 64% of Schmidt’s donations coming from individuals, we’ve built a campaign with 97% of individual contributors supporting our effort. I’m proud to be building a campaign that doesn’t take money from corporate PACs because this fight is for Kansas and for the families who live here. ✅ Derek Schmidt received fewer votes in his primary than any other incumbent in Kansas. He’s also lost this district before, proving that Kansans are ready to elect principled leadership to represent us in Congress. I never expected this kind of support when I first got in this race. It’s humbling. As a first-time candidate, I’m running to fix the broken politics that helps the DC insiders and hurts the people back home. I’m not a career politician, and that’s why this campaign’s momentum is all the more significant. But Schmidt is a career politician and he doesn’t want to let go. That means we can’t slow down.
