I’ve lived this life

Nick Begich had to stop at Cabela's

I joined my dad on our family fishing boat when I was 12 years old. I've fished every season since — raising my own kids on the water the same way my dad raised me. Commercial fishing isn't something I do on the side. It's how my family has always lived. I even had to take time off from the campaign during our last FEC deadline to go out on the boat, because that's how I pay my bills.

Nick Begich represents Alaska in Congress, but he’s really from Florida. When he tries to look like an Alaska guy in his ads, it feels like he had to stop at Cabela's on the way to the studio.
That's the choice in this race. Someone who has lived this life — or someone performing it.
The primary is behind us. It's now a head to head race between me and Begich. Polls show us leading when voters hear about both candidates. That means we can win…if voters hear about me.
